Games

<![CDATA[Yesterday I played Inside, again. From the creators of Limbo.

!--more--

img src="https://metamagical.org/blog/images/i2.jpg" style="float: left; margin: 1em;" width="200" /I love so many things about that game. The camera movements, the lightning, the puzzles, the astonishing images. But above all, the bizarre world it puts you in.

img src="https://metamagical.org/blog/images/s2.jpg" style="float: right; margin: 1em" height="112" /I also tried The Stanley Parable, which I had wanted to try for a while. It turned out to be in the category of "messing with your brain in a really cool way" too. I loved playing it.

It reminded me of another game in that category, that my friend Antonio had told me about and that I have yet to try: Antichamber.

img src="https://metamagical.org/blog/images/m3.jpg" style="float: left; margin: 1em;" height="112" /Hours passed, and when it was ridiculously late, instead of going to bed, another "pending" game picked my interest: Missed Messages. I found the story beautiful, and also how it makes you stop and think.

Being caught in a world created by others, that really caught my imagination and interest, made me wonder what was behind the stories of their development and the people that created them. So I went down wikipedia lane and read for hours.

Could I do anything similar? I know I'd like to. But I find the distance from wanting something to actually embarking in it to be huge.

Anyway, I ended reading things about Twine and Harlowe, a simple game engine and a language to create games. I'll play around with it. But I'm also craving for playing with graphics.

games]]>
